New Items

OK OK....I know i promised to keep on top of the blog but it's now been 3 months since my last post...so bad!
School holidays took over for six weeks so everything slipped but no excuses for the other six weeks have just been very lazy!!

I'm still working on some new bits and pieces and some more Watches as they are proving to be a bit of a hit. There's lots more Christmas bits to come and loads of ideas for pretty stocking fillers.

On the 1st October I have a Girly Night to get ready for with my Jewellery and Gifts and the local Avon rep with some samples and her Christmas catalogue....I'm getting really excited for it now. Here's hoping it will be a good night! Just need to find a huge dose of motivation then I'm all set...does anybody have any spare going? x

Busy Bee!!

I can't believe it's over a week since I last posted on here....It's been a busy week with one thing and another but my highlight of the week was definately The Big Bead Show in Telford on Saturday....it was my idea of heaven, over 50 bead suppliers under 1 roof. I found some great new suppliers learnt a couple of new things which I hope to try out soon and I came back with lots of goodies. Some of my new items are shown below.

Today, no work, all play!

Have had a great day today....no makes, no work on the shop today was all about family. Myself, my kids and my Mum all went to see my gorgeous Hubby recieve a medal from Prince Andrew. The Bugles Pipes and Drums were playing, the Rain was pouring and the wind was blowing but nothing could dampen our spirits as "the hubby" beemed from ear to ear when recieving his medal. Makes the 7 months apart seem somehow worthwhile. After the Padre's service and the March Off an RAF helicopter saluted the crowds and whirled off into the distance.....A day to remember for a very long time!!!! x

Re-designed.....

I've had a bit of a play today and come up with a new design for my Personalised Handbag Charms. It's made using Chain, Glass Beads and Charms. With Tibetan Silver letters. I made a green glass one for an order and liked it so much I made myself a blue one. It's available through Facebook or Folksy. I love the way the beads chink together as you move about.

Tomorrow I'm having a day off jewellery making as my Mum has come to visit and we are spending the day together...can't wait seems like ages since we spent some time together. Busy day on Saturday will tell you all about that soon...am going to be a very proud wifey!! x

Watches and Bangles

I am really into European Style Beads at the moment..I love the effect they give and the boldness of them. I've made up a couple of Watches and a bangle so far. I'd love to know what you think?

Folksy.......

I've done it...after lots of ums and ahhhs I have finally set up my Folksy Shop. At the moment it has the same items as the Facebook page and the Website...but I am working on some new bits and pieces to list in it. The way I figure it is the more ways for people to find me the better lol.....not quite sure if that's the way it works, but it's all got to help...surely. One of the pieces up for grabs over there is this Rose Quartz Tumbled nugget Bracelet...I think at the moment it's my favourite piece.

How To Create The Perfect Family

You will need:
1 large house
3-6 people, depending on how long you want to wait for it to be done
3 cups of pets
2 cups of patience
3 ounces of anger/frustration
3 quarts of laughter
4 teaspoons of trust
And last but definitely not least,
Lots and lots of love

First, open the house, and make sure that it will be the right size for your family. Mix the desired amount of people with the pets, carefully so you don’t damage them. In a separate bowl, stir the love and laughter together. Set aside. Taking each person separately, evenly distribute the patience and trust, making sure that each one gets an equal amount (Failure to distribute evenly may lead to different recipe! See recipe for “My impatient family” for details…). Carefully open the bottle of anger/frustration. Using a Q-tip, dab small portions of the anger/frustration onto each person. Lastly, take the love and laughter and sprinkle it all over the house, pets, and people. Let sit until all parts of the recipe are thoroughly combined, and voila! Your Perfect Family is complete.

Working hard.

I have had a busy few days on the shop, lots of behind the scenes work such as SEO and tweaking. It's not my most favourite job but I have let it slide a bit in the last few months and it's one of those jobs that just HAVE to be done!! I've also been working on a couple of ideas for some wedding favours. I decided to make up some samples of wine glass charms with Swarovski Crystal in their own organza bags. These Wine Glass Charm Favours look really pretty and can be matched to any theme.

 

I have also been working on a new design for a chunky summery Necklace I would love some feedback on it. Let me know what you think. x

Flower Power

Thought I would show you my latest make, it's a childs Lucite Flower and Glass Crystal Bracelet. I love the colours it looks so bright and funky. Off to make a matching necklace now xx

Where does the weekend go!!

Why does the weekend fly past in such a blur? What happened to lazy Sundays? I find myself asking myself these 2 questions every weekend now my weekends consist of shopping, football and catching up on housework that never got done during the week. I long for a really lazy pj day but it never seems to come.....anyway off for now, housework, washing and uniforms to do!!! x

New Bits

It's been a productive couple of days...I have been working on a new range of Lariat style necklaces...I love them, they are so versatile. They can be worn either strung low over your chest or up round your neck like a choker. they look amazing with simple t-shirts or a nice crisp white shirt. My only problem has been taking the pictures as they are so long. I might just have to ask a friend to model one so they can be seen properly..lol. I am loving the idea of incorporating some crochet or knitted flowers into some jewellery so I'm working on some designs at the moment. Have also bought a couple of Resin Pendants off Elibee Gifts that I want to use in a couple of new pieces. Fingers crossed i will be able to do them justice.

It's been a while!

I haven't been around for a few weeks so am coming back with a new refreshed attitude. I have been busy in my work room making some bits and pieces and am busy with some new ideas....am not saying too much about them at the moment....top secret..lol. I'm hoping to get to a couple of bead fairs in the next couple of weeks.....if i can persuade my lovely hubby!! Next month is June and it's when my Christmas planning starts...can't believe its come round so quick....seems like yesterday i was doing last years Christmas orders. One of my favourite stones at the moment is Natural Crystal Tourmaline. The colours are beautiful...so summery. I made a silver plated and gold plated bracelet using the stones yesterday and i think you'll agree the colours are stunning. These and some more of my designs are currently available through my page on  facebook.

My Workspace!!

I've finally got my own workspace, no more being elbowed by the kids or pestered....I can now shut myself away in my own little space. I just need to get a little heater to heat it up a bit as it's in my front porch and is a little chilly....I did buy one today and plugged it in and was greeted by a lot of sparks and hissing.....so will have to return it and try again :-( Roll on the nice sunny weather!!

Gold.

I'm not normally a huge fan of Gold Jewellery but I love Turquoise and Tigers Eye and they go so well with Gold. I have made up a new Necklace and Bracelet using all three. Gold findings, Tigers Eye rounds and chips and also chips and rounds in Turquoise. I'm really happy with the result. Semi Precious chip beads are amazing the fact that no two pieces are ever exactly the same is wonderful...it makes every piece of jewellery made with them have it's own look. Springtime Colours

I love the new seasons pastels and floral prints that are all around us at the moment, the colours are so fresh and pretty. I decided to work on a couple of pastel items today the first is a Ceramic Bead, Pearl and Crystal Necklace in Purples and Greens. I love the way the pearls and crystals carry the colour of the ceramic beads through the necklace. What do you think? I also made a co-ordinating Bracelet. I also made a Ribbon Bookmark. I have been using one for ages and adore it, I love the noise the cluster of beads make when I'm using it and it looks so nice sitting on my bedside table lol...The one I made today is made with lilac ribbon, Semi Precious Fluorite and Smooth Amethyst Beads and a couple of Butterfly Charms one saying "created for you".

Bridal Bits

Have started work on my latest collection for the Bride...so far I have posted pictures of some Bouquet Crystals and some Bridal Earrings on the facebook page. The Bouquet crystals are really on trend this year for adding a little bit of extra sparkle to your flowers. I'll hopefully have them in the webshop in a couple of days once I have completed a couple of other bits. bbl x

Life....

never runs smoothly does it, I had so many good intentions today my other half is home on Wednesday after 4 months away and today was housework day!!.....I am not a domesticated goddess by any stretch of the imagination but I like my house to look presentable so today's list included cleaning, washing, ATTACKING the playroom as well as much more and what do I do....trip over the kitchen broom. OWWWW not good I'm laying there screaming my head off as two nine year olds run panicking all over the place "we'll phone an ambulance Mummy", I finally calm them and myself down enough to untwist my leg and ankle and hobble to the sofa. Ice pack applied, Cup of tea made and Boiled egg cleaned off the carpet....yep I was carrying the breakfast through. What a disastrous start to what was supposed to be a very busy day. We have managed to muddle through though and between us got tidied up and put the washing away I have bumped up and down stairs a few times and my boy's have been a godsend. I am finally not panicking about jobs not being done.....why do us women heap so much pressure on ourselves!!! bbl x

Lovers Necklace

I am really happy with the way this necklace turned out....the photo doesn't really do it justice. It is hung on an 18" Sterling Silver Chain and I have used two Swarovski Crystals to symbolise the months of birth of the wearer and their partner. It has a small Sterling Silver heart hanging from a length of chain between the crystals. All the findings used are Sterling Silver and the Lovers Necklace is presented in a Leatherette Gift box. I might even have to start nagging the husband to buy me one!!

New Stuff

I can't believe it is already the 8th January, this month is flying by. The first of my new designs has been listed on the website, I love it....it's a Mothers Necklace made with Sterling Silver Findings and Swarovski Crystal Bicones. Each of the crystals represents a month of birth for your Children and the sterling silver ring signifies the everlasting bond between Mother and Child. It come presented in a leatherette box and would make the perfect Birthday/Mothers Day gift. In the next couple of days I will post a picture of " The Lovers Necklace" perfect for Valentines Day or an Anniversary gift.

Neglected!!

Oooops didn't realise how long it was since i had posted on this. I hope all of you had a great Christmas and New Year. The kids go back to school tomorrow so it's finally back to normality. I have been working on a couple of new collectios using Swarovski Crystals and Sterling Silver...just waiting on the bits and pieces to arrive and i can get started.... :-). Valentines and Mothers day are both coming up and a couple of the pieces i'm making will be perfect for them. i will post pictures as soon as I can. Hopefully it won't be quite as long until I next post, bbl x
